Sharjah 24: The Friends of Arthritis Patients of the Health Promotion Department at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah announced the launch of an icon design competition to support arthritis patients, with the aim of mobilising efforts and solidarity to raise awareness of arthritis, support patients and achieve sustainable health for them.
This came during a press conference held by the association at the council's headquarters, in the presence of board members, members of the competition jury, volunteers of the association, and a crowd of media professionals.
Her Excellency Waheeda Abdelaziz, Chairperson of Friends of Arthritis Patients, said that the launch of this competition, which aims to adopt a unified global "iconic" symbol for arthritis, reflects the association's full commitment to keeping abreast of developments with ideas that would enhance awareness of arthritis, and unite efforts to help and support patients in facing their challenges and promoting their health.
Her Excellency added that this is in line with the directives and visions of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah.
