The Council issued Resolution No. (15) for 2022, stipulating that the first regular session of the seventeenth annual chapter of the municipal councils in Sharjah will end on Thursday, June 30, 2022 AD, provided that the general committees of the municipal councils continue to conduct the work of the relevant municipal councils between regular sessions.
The Council issued Resolution No. (16) for 2022, regarding the formation of the Board of Trustees of the Sharjah Prize for Public Finance (SPPF), and the resolution stipulated that the Board of Trustees of the Sharjah Award for Public Finance would be formed under the chairmanship of Mr. Salem Yousef Al Qaseer, and the membership of:
1. Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan
2. Waleed Ibrahim Al Sayegh
3. Dr. Nasser Al Hatlan Al Qahtani
4. Dr. Azzam Hussein Armili
The Council issued Resolution No. (17) for 2022, regarding the appointment of a Secretary-General for the Sharjah Award for Public Finance, and the resolution stipulated that Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr bin Hamad Al Qasimi, would be appointed as Secretary-General of the Sharjah Award for Public Finance, in addition to his work duties.
In accordance with the decision, the Secretary-General of the Sharjah Award for Public Finance shall have the right to exercise the following functions:
1. Proposing the strategic and marketing plan for the award and presenting it to the Board of Trustees for approval, then submitting it to the Executive Council for approval or taking the necessary action.
2. Carrying out the general coordination of the award and the administrative and financial supervision of its work.
3. Carrying out marketing and promotion for the award in accordance with the plan approved by the Board of Trustees.
4. Introducing the award, its objectives, conditions, and the nomination mechanism based on the approved award guide.
5. Receiving and classifying nomination requests for the award, submitting reports to the Board of Trustees in this regard, and coordinating with the arbitration committee and evaluation teams to sort the applications and distribute them to the work teams.
6. Coordinating between government agencies concerned with the award, the Board of Trustees, and the arbitration committee is up to the Secretary-General to make the necessary correspondences.
7. Preparing the award ceremony after being approved by the Board of Trustees.
8. Preparing the agendas of the Board of Trustees meetings in coordination with the Chairman of the Board, attending the Board’s meetings, and writing down all its recommendations and decisions in the minutes.
9. Any other functions assigned by the Board of Trustees.
The Council also issued Resolution No. (19) for 2022, regarding providing dental services to elderly citizens in Sharjah. The resolution aims to support and enhance dental services for elderly citizens, preserve their health and help their families by providing support dental services for elderly citizens in Sharjah.
The decision stipulates that the Sharjah Social Services Department is mandated to provide direct financial support for the expenses of dental services for the elderly citizens registered in the department, in accordance with the provisions of this decision.
The resolution also stipulates that the Sharjah Social Services Department will be entrusted with the following:
1. Providing dental services to elderly citizens in coordination with specialised institutions.
2. Establishing a database of elderly citizens who benefit from the services.
3. Verify that the conditions outlined in Article (3) of this resolution are met to benefit from the dental services and refer the beneficiaries to specialized medical institutions.
4. Signing contracts and agreements with the University Dental Hospital in Sharjah and institutions and facilities specialised in providing dental services.
5. Periodic follow-up and evaluation of the services provided by institutions contracting with the department and taking all necessary administrative and legal measures.
The Council reviewed the final account report for 2021, which included the executive summary of the definitive account with a statement comparing expenditures and revenues for government departments and bodies in Sharjah.
