SEC approves data management programme for emirate's govt

Sharjah24: Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) expressed the deep sadness and sorrow that afflicted the people of UAE, their leadership, and the Arab and Islamic nations with the death of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with his passing away, lost a leader who was witnessed by all forums and situations with wise vision, insight and great concern for humanitarian fields and development locally and globally.
This came during a meeting of the Council, which was chaired by Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of Council, on Tuesday, in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council, and Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council, in the Ruler's Office.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Council recalled the exploits of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him, and his long career that spanned over more than 50 years in serving the country with sincerity, dedication and great concern for the development and advancement of the country, and providing the needs of citizens through touching them and the initiative to provide them in all emirates.

The Council also affirmed that the election of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as President of the State is the best successor to the best predecessor, and His Highness will complete the civilized march of the country in the footsteps of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him, and the leader of empowerment Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him.

The meeting discussed a number of topics on the agenda, which included reviewing the progress of government business and development plans, and discussing future projects.

Sharjah Executive Council issued Resolution No. (13) for 2022 regarding the regulation of Tourist guide profession in the Emirate of Sharjah, and the resolution included various provisions and legal articles that regulate the profession in terms of licensing requirements, practicing the profession and its obligations, and the competencies of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority in implementing the provisions of resolution.

The Council approved the data management and governance programme for the Government of Sharjah, which aims to manage government data according to a comprehensive methodology and practical framework that addresses the data life cycle, and includes the establishment of an operational structure at the emirate level, inventory and identification of all government data assets, and assessment of the digital value of data components as part of the transformation plan Digital in the Emirate of Sharjah.

The programme will include the application of a unified and centralized methodology for sharing government data, enhancing its quality and security, and managing its participation in accordance with the best international practices in the field of government data management.

The Council reviewed the amendments of the Sharjah Consultative Council to the draft law to reorganise the Labor Standards Development Authority in the Emirate of Sharjah, and directed the Council to submit the draft law to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah for issuance.
