During an interview with "Sharjah 24", after attending an event on the Mulberry tree organised by the Institute at Khor Fakkan's historic old market, she explained that this tree is an important part of our folklore because of its wide range of uses in food, dye, and medicine.
The mulberry tree's fruits and leaves have been shown to lower blood sugar, increase haemoglobin, remove toxins from the blood and liver, and stimulate diuresis, among other benefits to human health.
The tree, according to the cultural expert, has a folkloric history and was formerly a gathering spot for women, who worked on their crafts in its shady branches.
