His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al Musallam, Chairman of SIH, met with Dr. Hiro Lugo Okando, Dean of the College of Communication at the University of Sharjah, where they discussed the importance of focusing on supporting graduation projects for the college students, especially those projects that serve the heritage and cultural aspect, and media projects that support heritage sites, research and studies about heritage.
His Excellency Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Musallam said that SIH is always keen to weave the best relations with scientific and academic bodies and institutions, emphasising the importance of cooperation and coordination in order to serve heritage, knowledge and culture. He added that today’s meeting came to discuss the possibility of signing a cooperation agreement with the College of Communication, at the University of Sharjah to confirm both sides are working in light of complete integration between the various practical, field, scientific and academic missions and programmes of the Institute, and working together to translate the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, who is the sponsor of the strategic cultural and heritage project that has made Sharjah holds a prestigious international position.
His Excellency pointed out that this agreement, once signed, will focus on supporting, encouraging and motivating graduate students to choose various topics in the world of heritage which will lead to the sustainability of heritage and its transmission to generations through studies and research.
Dr. Hiro Lugo Okando, Dean of the College of Communication, stressed that the university and the Institute have effective and continuous cooperation through the College of Fine Arts and Design, and this agreement will seek to enhance and diversify the ways of cooperation through the College of Communication, where many cooperation opportunities we discovered such as linking student projects to the needs of the institute and its specific research projects on communication, promotion and cultural heritage.
Dr. Hiro Lugo Okando added that on the communication and media side, the college looks forward to developing projects with students and researchers in the fields of modern and advanced technologies such as virtual reality and augmented reality, as well as podcasts and videos that promote the institute's goals and projects.
