Sharjah24: Abdul Aziz Salem Al Suwaidi, Director of Marine Sustainability Department at the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah, said in the presence of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, that the 22nd Sir Bu Nair Festival, considered one of the most important festivals in the Emirate of Sharjah, will start Thursday.
In exclusive statements to “Sharjah 24”, Al Suwaidi added: Sir Bu Nair Island Reserve is one of the most important islands in the United Arab Emirates, as it is an important site for turtle nesting and contains a large bird colony, and the reserve has been listed in many international organisations.

The Director of the Marine Sustainability Department at the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah indicated that the festival organises many events, programmes and competitions, most notably the traditional boat tug of war and the search for Al Dana and others over two days.

At the end of his speech, Al-Suwaidi thanked and appreciated all government agencies participating in the 22nd Sir Bu Nair Festival, wishing everyone success.
