Sharjah 24: In cooperation and coordination with the Punishment and Correctional Institution Department of Sharjah Police Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) launched an initiative entitled "The Care Programme for Inmates and their Families" under the slogan "Let's Start Over" for the benefit of the inmates of the Punitive and Correctional Institution, in the "Pre-release" centre with the contribution of a number of departments affiliated with SSSD.
The initiative implemented ten different enabling rehabilitation programmes for the benefit of 120 inmates, presented by a group of experts, consultants and lecturers who discussed many topics and empowerment programmes that benefit inmates such as the thinking outside the box programme, positive thinking, the family driver's license programme, the social shyness management programme, and the family planning programme for a successful marriage, the How Do I Get Rid of Stress Programme, the Mental Health Care Program from Coronavirus, and the Discover Your Personality Program.

Ms. Fatima Ismail Mohammed, Director of Dar Al Aman at the Department of Social Services in Sharjah, said that the aim of the programme is to provide a nurturing environment for inmates and give their family members a sense of safety, and help them overcome the consequent financial and moral problems due to the breadwinner’s presence in prison, and from here a complete and comprehensive schedule has been developed that takes into account all these aspects, in addition to conducting a survey on the feasibility of these programmes for the participating parties.

The Director of Dar Al Aman reviewed the initiative of the "The Care Programme for Inmates and their Families", which came in cooperation with the Tamkeen Office of the Department, which is a programme to empower vulnerable groups with temporary jobs that enable them to obtain professional experience.

The "Pre-release" centre is a rehabilitation project for the inmates of the punitive institution in Sharjah who are about to be released families, and was established in cooperation with the Sharjah Social Services Department, and aims to achieve the quality of psychological, social and health life. The centre also works to enable the inmate to manage family life and remove the barriers of fear and hesitation that may haunt him after his release. The centre includes two categories: "the category of the inmate next to be released" and the category "the family of the released inmate."
