Sharjah 24: The Department of Statistics and Community Development (DSCD) inaugurated, on Wednesday, in its new headquarters the Statistics Training Centre, which aims to develop and train employees in various government departments in the Emirate of Sharjah on many topics related to the concept of statistics and community development.
Since the first day of its opening, the centre has held training courses and workshops, starting with a course entitled "Writing Statistical Reports and Presenting Data", followed by a series of specialised courses that are consistent with the goals and visions of the department, and its role in comprehensive community development in its various fields.
Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Director of the Department of Statistics and Community Development (DSCD), stated that the DSCD continues to work diligently with the aim of developing the statistical system in the Emirate of Sharjah, and consolidating the concept of sustainable community development in the Emirate in accordance with the best practices and international standards.
He added that the launch of the Statistics Training Centre confirms the importance of preparing cadres and employees with the necessary knowledge and capabilities in everything related to social responsibility, and the role of statistical operations in its development.
He highlighted that the centre will also contribute to strengthening cooperation and partnership with various government departments, in line with the DSCD objectives. In addition to strengthening strategic partnerships between public and private sector institutions alike, because of their great importance in the comprehensive development process that the Emirate is witnessing.
