Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC)’s nineteen members discussed the various work and tasks of the Sharjah Police (SP) during its session, held on past Thursday, as part of its work for its third regular session of the tenth legislative term.
His Excellency Ali Mehad Ali Mehad AlSuwaidi, Chairman of Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), headed the session at SCC’s headquarters in Sharjah.
The council discussed the policy of the SP, in the presence of His Excellency Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, and Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amir, Deputy Commander-in-chief of Sharjah Police, along with top SP officials.
Among the many topics discussed to enhance and develop SP’s services, the session discussed solving the phenomenon of smuggling of domestic workers and combating this smuggling by establishing a specialised unit.
The session also stressed the importance of completing the network of security surveillance cameras in the entire Emirate to reach 100% coverage, which achieves and enhances safety and security. In addition to the calling for an increase in patrols and workers in the Central Region and an increase in inspection lanes for vehicle licencing and registration centres.
The session also witnessed the emphasis of the SP’s keenness on emiratisation in all its sectors and departments, highlighting its provision of the best services, as well as enhancing its visual communication.
At the end of the session, the Secretary-General of the Council, His Excellency Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, announced that the next session, which is the sixteenth, to be held on next Thursday, corresponding to 26 May, to discuss the council's recommendations regarding the policy of the SP.
