Sharjah 24: His Excellency Ali Salem Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA), announced, during the authority's participation in the Arab Travel Market (ATM) 2022, the expectation of the new expansion of the airport to start at the beginning of next year.
His Excellency confirmed that the authority's participation in the ATM 2022 comes under the umbrella of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), through a pavilion that includes about 22 government and private entities.
His Excellency added to “Sharjah 24”, that by participating in this global event, SAA aims to promote what is offered to customers, especially through interaction with large global participations in the exhibition and the presence of the large audience.
His Excellency said that this gives indications that the issue of recovery from the pandemic is under way, as SAA pays great attention to the safety and security of travelers, while working to provide all the needs and requirements of travelers, such as smooth entry and exit and speedy completion of procedures throughout Sharjah Airport (SA).
His Excellency pointed out that during the period of the pandemic, the SAA made a lot of changes in the current building, which included many facilities such as toilets, floors, lighting and ceilings, and took this opportunity to develop many services.
His Excellency confirmed that the expansion project of SA was launched last March and will be completed on 15-20 of next month, expecting the participation of more than 22 companies specialised in building airports, and work on the expansion project is anticipated to start at the beginning of next year, and the work will take about three years.
