Sharjah 24: Sharjah Broadcast Authority (SBA), through Sharjah TV, broadcasted the 49th London International Book Fair, whereas Sharjah is the guest of honour.

SBA, through the “Akhbar Al Dar” programme (Home News), covered Cultural and heritage activities and events held in the Sharjah pavilion and throughout the book fair, which included panel discussions, cultural seminars and popular performances of Emirati heritage, in addition to a number of meetings that brought together a group of Emirati intellectual and cultural figures with their counterparts from different countries of the world.

SBA met with a number of Emirati cultural figures participating in the book fair where Sharjah is the first representative of an Arab country holding the title of the guest of honour of the "London International Book Fair".  The Emirati cultural figures expressed the importance of this great event and its role in highlighting the pioneering cultural project founded and led by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

Sharjah Broadcast Authority is keen to keep pace with events that reflect the development and cultural movement of the Emirate of Sharjah, and to cover all local, regional and international events and exhibitions organised by Sharjah authorities and institutions, in an effort to enhance the media presence of the Emirate and consolidate its role in the development and prosperity of the UAE.
