In presence were Colonel Mona Sorour Al Shuwaihi, Deputy Director of the Sharjah Punitive and Rehabilitation Establishment; Lt. Col. Salem Al Ketbi, Director of the Men’s Prison Branch, and a number of officers, non-commissioned officers and individuals in the Establishment.
Thirty-two senior international and local volunteer doctors headed by Dr. Suhail Hosseini, head of the Dental Implant Medical Centre in Dubai, participated in the 11-hour – long initiative.
Colonel Mona Sorour said that the dental implant initiative, in its twentieth edition, came after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, adding that Sharjah Police believes in providing appropriate health care for the institution’s inmates, and maintaining that all their rights that are consistent with the international laws are met and observed.
Colonel Suroor stressed the keenness of Sharjah Police to strengthen cooperation with various institutions and bodies in the country, who had a remarkable impact in supporting efforts in the success of community campaigns and programmes, thus contributing to providing the best services and enhancing the quality of life for inmates in line with the humanitarian systems and laws in the UAE.
On his part, Dr. Suhail Hosseini said: "Medicine is a humanitarian profession and we, as doctors, must contribute to providing one of the human rights of this group in our society, based on the concept of social cohesion and solidarity."
