The meeting, held at the headquarters of the association in Sharjah, tackled a number of topics that contribute to the continuation of the activities of the association to serve the Arabic language.
His Excellency Mr. Bilal Al Badour extended his highest thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his continuous support for the Arabic language in general and ALPA in particular, wishing that the association would achieve its desired goals.
The meeting started with a discussion on the agenda, where the minutes of the previous meeting were approved. The board of directors was briefed on the achievements of the (Read Fluently) initiative.
The association’s administrative team was directed to work on publishing the “Language Repository Competition with a wider scope within the community, a competition concerned with encouraging students to memorize Arabic poetry) through their competition to memorise 150 verses of poetry, and the winners are determined through specific criteria.
The association’s participation in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair was also discussed, and Dr. Ali Abdel Qader Al Hammadi stressed the importance of ALPA participation in such occasions, as it is closely related to the association’s basic objectives, which emphasise the importance of books and reading.
