Sharjah24: The Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), on the initiative of its members and the General Secretariat of the Council, visited the Sharjah Safari in its location in Al Dhaid in coordination with Environment and Protected Areas Authority, and they toured its vast expanses, which is the largest safari in the world outside Africa, watching wildlife and moving between animal pastures.
The delegation of the Council included a number of members of the Council, the Secretary-General of the Council, His Excellency Ahmed Saeed Al-Jarwan, and the directors of departments and cadres in the Council.
The delegation of the Council received His Excellency Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah, Chairman of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority, and introduced them to the importance of the safari and its role within the development projects in the central region, which comes within the framework of highlighting Sharjah's efforts to take care of deserts, trees, plants and animals.
Al Suwaidi confirmed that the Sharjah safari is one of the latest projects inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in continuation of his vision to preserve and rehabilitate some natural desert areas to be a site for preserving environmental diversity and a space to receive visitors.
She accompanied the advisory council on a tour that included all corners of the Sharjah safari and its natural environments and animals, noting that this place was prepared to be environmentally friendly and contain various animals and plants in a well-groomed environment.
