Sharjah24: As part of the council’s plans and programs that motivate different segments of society to practice sports as a way of life The Sharjah Sports Council concluded the Dibba Al-Hisn Run on Sunday, in cooperation with Al Qudra Sports Services, with great success and wide participation.
The winners were honoured in the event, which witnessed the participation of approximately 250 of both sexes, in the presence of His Excellency Abdullah bin Malih, member of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Sports Council, His Excellency Ibrahim Al Darmaki, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dibba Al Hisn Club, His Excellency Talib Al Bali, Board Member, Chairman of the Individual Games Committee in the club, and His Excellency Ahmed Abdullah Al-Naqbi Board Member, Chairman of the Club’s Strategic Planning and Institutional Excellence Committee, Colonel Ali Muhammad Al Hammadi, Director of the Eastern Region Police Department, who participated in the Citizens’ Race for the 40-year-old category and won second place, and Lt. Colonel Abdullah Rashid Al Kabouri, Head of Traffic and Patrols Department in the Eastern Region Police Department, participated in the same race and won fourth place, and Mr. Yasser Omar Al Doukhi, Director of Events Department Sports and Community Council, Mr. Mohammed Rashid Rashoud, Director of the Parents Council in Dibba Al-Hisn, and Mr. Khalid Muhammad, Head of the Event Planning and Implementation Division at the Council’s Sports and Community Events Department.
The event included a 2.5 km race for the nationals category, where Hamad Al Marzouki won the first place, followed by Muhammad Ahmed Al Mothgal in the second place, while Ahmed Al Dhahanani won the third place, and in the women’s category Shouq Al Balushi won the first place, Amoun Ahmed won the second and Nouf Al Balushi the third. As for the same distance for the men’s open category, Ahmed Fathi won first place, Mohamed Abdel Moneim in second place and Ibrahim Mustafa in third place. In the women’s category, Joria Hassanein won first place, followed by Rahila Tervi in second place and Maryam Hassanein in third place.
In the 8 km race for the citizens’ category, Saleh Al-Suwaidi won first place, Al-Shaali Al-Awani in second place and Hamad Al-Zyoudi in third place. Nouman Al-Issawi won first place, Anwar Al-Ghouz won second place, and Mohamed Ait took third place. In the same distance for the women’s open category, Elissa Petrova won first place, Latifa Al-Sarkh came second, and Lydia Stalin took third place.
On this occasion, Mr. Yasser Omar Al-Doukhi said: The event achieved the desired goals, and is considered the second of the Council in the current year, and stressed the value and position of sport in the smiling emirate, which is expressed by the turnout of participants of both sexes in the activities of the Council, and we felt the happiness of the participants through the turnout. The good that the event witnessed.
At the conclusion of his speech, Al-Doukhi indicated that the event represented strengthening the council’s approach in spreading the culture of sports for all, and its constant keenness to invest in community sporting events, in introducing the beauty of the emirate’s cities and the richness of its tourist attractions.
