Sharjah 24: Two wetsuit-clad individuals dive into the safe environment of a large glass water tank to capture images of colourful reefs and fishes as the ‘Introduction to Scuba & Underwater Photography’ workshop gets underway at the ongoing sixth edition of Xposure International Photography Festival.
Attracting curious onlookers of all ages, the large glass water tank takes centre-stage in Hall 3 at Expo Centre Sharjah, and the workshop gives aspiring photographers a unique opportunity to experience the thrills and challenges of underwater photography under the guidance of professionals.
Mohammad Essa, photographer and professional dive instructor at UAE-based Royal Diving, briefs divers on the use of scuba equipment and oxygen tanks and how to handle them underwater.
The workshop, which offers 30 minutes of classroom training in tips for taking pictures underwater is followed by a 20-minute practice in the indoor tank. Participants at the workshop are taught tips and tricks on proper breathing techniques and guided on handling the cameras to take stunning underwater imagery.
The ‘Introduction to Scuba & Underwater Photography’ workshop runs twice daily at Xposure 2022 until February 15. No previous diving experience is required.
