SSC begins registering for Tal Al Zaafaran Run in Al Dhaid

Sharjah24: Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) has announced the start of the registration for participating in the Tal Al Zaafaran Run in Al Dhaid, which will end on Friday, February 11, 2022, while the race will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2021, in the first community sports event within the races launched by SSC in cooperation with Al Qudra Services company and a number of institutions .
The race targets at least 400 participants registering via the link http://www.eevents.ae/dhaid. The race includes three groups: citizens - men and citizens - women and the open category of 3 km for seven different age groups and 6 km for six categories different age groups, as the race starts in front of Tal Al Zaafaran Park at 7:00 am for the participants in the 6 km race, and the 3 km race starts at 7:10 am, with the awarding of the winning categories at 8:30.

On this occasion, His Excellency Issa Hilal Al-Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, said: The council’s sports and community activities continue under the supervision of the Sports and Community Events Department through the establishment of the Tal Al-Zaafaran run, in line with the council’s keenness to spread sports and make it a lifestyle that stems from the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. 

He added : "We are keen on diversity in the events between the cities of the emirate to highlight the beauty of the emirate and to promote them through sports tourism and at the same time give the opportunity for the participation of a large number of participants, whether by participating in the race or virtually ".

Yasser Omar Al-Doukhi, Director of Sports and Community Events Department, said: We are looking forward to great participations to win distinguished race medals, as the medal was designed in a classic circular shape with Islamic-style inscriptions on its edges to reflect Sharjah’s cultural identity.
