Sharjah24: The traffic control campaigns launched by the Traffic and Patrols Department at the Sharjah Police General Command resulted in the seizure of (6705) violating motorcycles during the past year, due to the failure of their drivers to comply with traffic laws on the main and secondary roads in the emirate.
Lt. Colonel Muhammad Allay, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at the Sharjah Police General Command, stressed the leadership’s keenness to enhance its security role and protect lives, by monitoring the negative behaviors of road users, especially motorcyclists who are not committed to traffic safety procedures and traffic and traffic rules, especially bikers. Lt. Col. Muhammad Alai explained that Sharjah Police is constantly doubling its efforts to spread traffic culture by organizing awareness campaigns throughout the year, noting that the number of campaigns it implemented last year amounted to (12) awareness campaigns, organised in all cities of the emirate, aimed at limiting of the deaths and injuries resulting from these accidents, the number of beneficiaries reached about 647 thousand, and 195 people.
