The authority has also lined up several programmes covering a range of topics to be broadcast by its television channels and radio stations as well as its social media platforms, to celebrate the momentous 50th National Day. Apart from dedicated shows and programmes, the authority’s channels and stations will also cover the various festivities being held across the emirate.
Pulse 95 Radio’s programme will celebrate the UAE’s diversity
Sharjah’s popular English language radio station, Pulse 95, will bring a variety of programmes focused on the many milestones the UAE crossed in the past 50 years, while also highlighting the nation’s plans for the next 50 years.
The channel will be broadcasting a live programme from Al Majaz in Sharjah, on December 2. During this live outdoor broadcast, the station will be engaging with listeners as well as live audiences through short quizzes. Winners will be given attractive prizes.
Pulse 95 will also post short video clips extracted from interviews with 50 individuals from different nationalities residing in the UAE, in which the interviewees will be sharing personal stories of how their lives and jobs have transformed from the past to the present, and how they foresee their future in the UAE.
Sharjah Channel
Sharjah TV will broadcast six informative shows celebrating the UAE’s Golden Jubilee highlighting achievements across sectors, including the challenges that we faced after the formation of the nation which was overcome and turned into opportunities for progress.
Al Wousta Channel from Al-Dhaid
The channel will be hosting interviews with officials as well as poets from the central region of the emirate, in addition to broadcasting a documentary series on the history of the nation. It will also air special programmes featuring guests sharing their memories on the foundation of the country and the development of the central region since the founding of the UAE.
Sharjah Radio
The radio station will broadcast its live programme, Tataluat Watan, non-stop for 12 hours starting at 10 am. It will feature a variety of segments, including poetry readings, documentaries on the UAE, and a special programme to highlight the UAE’s relationship with the Gulf Region that will be broadcast live in association with radio stations in Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
Holy Quran Radio
The Holy Quran Radio will air segments celebrating the National Day Golden Jubilee during its regular broadcast, in addition to posting inspiring videos on its social media platforms to strengthen the sense of belonging among citizens as well as residents.
Celebrations on Al-Sharqiya Channel from Kalba
Al Sharqiya channel based in Kalba, Sharjah, will be presenting insightful content to educate audiences about the reasons behind UAE’s rise as one of the top nations in the world to live and invest in.
Sharjah Sports Channel
The channel will be celebrating the UAE’s Golden Jubilee with interviews with a host of sports stars, who will share their experiences and glorious moments of victory over the past 50 years. Another special programme titled ‘The Journey of the Nation’, will also be aired. The premise of the show is how various forms of sport have grown and matured in the UAE over the past 50 years, and their contributions to the nation’s development as a world-class sporting destination.
The Sharjah Broadcasting Authority commenced UAE’s Golden Jubilee celebrations at its headquarters with a series of cultural and folk shows and performances in addition to exciting competitions, in the presence of Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director-General of SBA, and a host of channel and stations heads and staff.
