The meeting discussed a number of topics on its agenda on developing government work of the development projects in all vital sectors to provide a decent living for residents of the Emirate of Sharjah.
The Council approved the memorandum of understanding to be concluded between the Sharjah International Airport Authority, Sharjah Research Technology & Innovation Park (SRTIP) and Huawei. The memorandum aims to enhance areas of cooperation in a number of aspects, including enhancing the institutional value of innovation through research and development towards a knowledge-based economy, investing in youth and supporting them in knowledge, with the skills and challenges of the aviation sector, and developing proactive plans and innovative solutions to deal with operational challenges with an innovative methodology that contributes to achieving sustainable development.
The council discussed the report submitted by the Sharjah Health Authority on health care for the elderly and people with disabilities at the University Hospital in Sharjah. The report included an analysis of the health services provided to them in terms of benefits and services and their level of development.
The report also included the hierarchy and gradation of health care since the inclusion of each category based on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, aimed at providing the best health services and their care through an integrated system.
The Council was briefed on the preparations of the Sharjah Emirate Committee for the celebrations the 50th National Day of the United Arab Emirates. The celebrations of Sharjah will include various activities that enhance the values of the union, patriotism and belonging, highlight the developmental achievements, and commemorate the memory of the founders and leaders of the state and their wise vision.
The activities of the 50th National Day will be held in all cities and regions of the emirate, so that the people of Sharjah, its residents and visitors live in an exceptional festive atmosphere through national evenings, theatrical and folklore performances, display panels, sports competitions, educational workshops, sports and recreational activities, among others.
