Sharjah 24: Al Hamriyah Municipality participated, today, in the international occasion, celebrating the International Day for Tolerance, , by planting the Ghaf tree due to its authentic value to ancestors who used its shade, and its value of tolerance and coexistence, calling it “the tolerance tree” in the garden of the western neighborhood of Hamriyah.
To celebrate the occasion, His Excellency Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, and His Excellency Saif Obaid Bouvier Al Shamsi, Chairman of Al Hamriyah Council, one of one of the councils of the Department of Districts and Villages Affairs (DVA); His Excellency Humaid Ali Obaid bin Khalaf Al Ali, Deputy Chairman of Hamriyah Council, and His Excellency Khaled Ali Al Shamsi from the Emiri Diwan in Hamriyah, planting the “Tolerance Tree” in the area designated for the elderly in the Western District Park in Hamriyah.
 
His Excellency Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality said that this occasion has an impact on the concept of tolerance among nations, accepting others and familiarising with their culture, noting that the municipality’s activities came as an affirmation of Al Hamriyah Municipality’s motto “age-sensitive institution” by linking the activities and initiatives with the services provided by the municipality to all social groups, especially the elderly, and providing the necessary support to this important group.
 
Al Shamsi pointed out that the International Day for Tolerance translates the identity of the UAE government and people, and reflects a civilised model, promoted by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and presents a model for tolerance among peoples promoting the values of coexistence and acceptance.
 
Al Shamsi added that Al Hamriyah Municipality expresses the importance of the Ghaf tree and the great role it plays in preserving biological and environmental diversity and providing a natural habitat for wild species.
 
Al Shamsi stressed that the Emirati experience on tolerance has become an international model, thanks to the wise vision of the wise leadership, as everyone lives on the UAE territory enjoying security and stability, recalling the approach established by the founding father late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, who instilled the values of tolerance and love among all segments of the UAE society.
