Dr. Elham Al Amiri, Deputy Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Friends for Diabetes Association, said that the Association affiliated to the Health Promotion Department of the Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs celebrates World Diabetes Day through the Blue Circle initiative for the 12th successive year.
Speaking exclusively to “Sharjah 24”, Al Amiri extended thanks and appreciations to the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs and Honourary President of the Society, for her unlimited support for the activities of the Friends for Diabetes.
She pointed that this year, a one-hour bicycle tour was organised on Sharjah Corniche, in cooperation with Al Qudra Sports Management, and with the participation of a large number of cyclists of different ages and nationalities.
Dr. Al Amiri concluded by thanking all the participants, sponsors, organisers and volunteers for making this event a success, supporting the Association's activities and people with diabetes, and raising community health awareness on ways to prevent and coexist with diabetes.
