Sharjah 24: As part of the activities of the Cultural and Media Office at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA) in Sharjah, a signing ceremony was held for a number of female writers who participated in the writing of the book “The Talk of Solitude” and the book “Studies that won the Sharjah Award for Creative Gulf Women” at the 40th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), in an effort to introduce the Office work during the pandemic.
Asma Al Zarouni and Saadia Al Mufarreh signed the book "The Talk of Solitude", a book that includes an introduction, 23 texts and 23 paintings by 23 Gulf writers, in 104 pages. All texts deals with the reality facing the world due to the Corona pandemic. The book is the second experience of the Cultural and Media Office at SCFA in the collective authorship of one book, whereas more than one writer collaborated in the book.
The second book was signed by Dr. Zainab AlYassi and entitled “Studies that won the Sharjah Award for Creative Gulf Women”. The 120-page book contains an introduction, and two studies that won the second session of the Sharjah Award for Creative Gulf Women. The first study entitled "the Bamboo Stem" and the novel "the Lost Self" by Dr. Asma Al Ahmadi, while the last study by Dr. Zainab Al Yasi is entitled "The Culture of the Other and its Presence in the Gulf Novel."
Publishing the study and other works aims to spread culture and knowledge on "literary studies", which is an opportunity for specialists in the field of literature and criticism be introduced to literature criticism.
