The session was delivered by Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Director General of the Academy, in the presence of Brigadier Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, and a number of participating bodies, as well as a number of visitors, authors, publishing houses and readers.
Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani began his speech by thanking His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for allowing different institutions to participate in such cultural event, which aims to spread different cultures and intellectual creation. He added that the Academy decided to publish the book in appreciation of and gratitude to His Highness for the initiatives he launched in different fields, which aimed at raising the standard of living of Emiratis in Sharjah, and achieving the highest standard of living and comfort.
Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani confirmed that the book talks partially about His Highness’s initiatives for his people, and the book’s chapters narrate the journey that His Highness has undertaken to serve his country, since he assumed the reins of power in Sharjah in 1972, until this day, and since that moment.
Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani discussed the chapters of the book that narrate the impact of His Highness’s initiatives on the different aspects of life, such as the sustainable development, community and family stability, the decent life, leadership, quality of security, culture and knowledge, education, and community health.
Brigadier General Al Othmani explained that the book includes data, statistics and opinion polls obtained from citizens and those involved in the initiatives. He concluded that these initiatives have effectively contributed to raising the level of culture, educational attainment, psychological, economic, social and family stability of Sharjah citizens, and contributed to achieving social security and comprehensive development.
The session included many interventions and discussions on the book’s content and topics.
