Sharjah 24: A delegation from Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) visited, on Tuesday, Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) to sustain the momentum of the SCHS’s collaboration with the bank, which has been growing since 2010, and gave substantial support in the sum of AED 3,500,000. The delegation expressed gratitude for SCHS’s critical role in assisting people with disablities.
Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, thanked and praised Dubai Islamic Bank for its year-round support and dedication to SCHS’s students, and urged all institutions and organisations to follow the same path.
She emphasised SCHS’s keenness on services to consolidate and develop cooperation with local, Arab, and international institutions and authorities in order to provide the best and most up-to-date services, stay on top of the latest developments, and improve the quality of life of people with disabilities in collaboration with partners, despite all challenges.
She also touched on SCHS’s experience during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting how SCHS was able to maintain its service to persons with disabilities and their parents (remotely) before returning to life as usual, with extreme care and the highest levels of security and safety.
She noted that the average cost of learning and training a student throughout the academic year is at least 30,000 dirhams, and that the Zakat Fund pays for more than 80% of SCHS's students.
