Sharjah24: The Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park launched a special training program to qualify young Emirati engineers in various specializations within the so-called additive manufacturing to enable them to deal, adapt and engage in the practical application of many industries with advanced technologies, to form a new generation of industrial entrepreneurs who are skilled and professional engineers in a number of future engineering disciplines.
This program comes to promote innovation in a number of sectors such as autonomous vehicle technologies, the oil and gas sector, medical sciences, smart manufacturing and other industries, which have witnessed global changes, in recognition of the fact that additive manufacturing or 3D printing was able to highlight the features of the “Fourth Industrial Revolution.”

3D printers allow developers the ability to print overlapping Park parts and make parts from different materials with different mechanical and physical specifications and then assemble them with each other, which is one of the manufacturing techniques; Where the pieces are manufactured by dividing the 3D designs into very small layers using computer programs, and then they are manufactured using 3D printers by printing one layer over the other until the final shape is formed.

Participants in the program were selected from various universities and colleges in the UAE who have an academic background and qualifications in engineering, and through the program, the participants explore various skills, including (product design, development, design and implementation of prototypes, additive manufacturing using a wide range of the most advanced industrial machinery and equipment). on a technical level).

Affiliates will also have the opportunity to network and exchange ideas, experiences and perspectives with specialized experts working in these fields and to work on many new and innovative projects to explore the application of new technologies.

In addition to exploring new topics and learning innovative future skills to try many high-tech equipment and workshops specialized in design processes to form innovative products, and developing skills in several areas: laser cutting and robotics, self-driving vehicles, green technology, and the affiliates will be trained to work in teams using Creativity in exploring and solving problems that can make a difference in the world.

Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park, said: “This program is a translation of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide a suitable environment for creativity, innovation and skills development for researchers and innovators of young citizens in various disciplines by creating an attractive Park. And sustainable, supporting, encouraging and developing the innovation system to advance the country’s position as a global destination in the fields of research and technology by linking the efforts of private sector institutions, government bodies and academic institutions to support applied scientific and technological research to carry out investment activities and support the country’s orientations towards a knowledge economy.
