SEC launches programme to discover students talents

Sharjah 24: In the context Sharjah Education Council (SEC) policies to develop student talents, the Department of Gifted Students launched a new vision for the development and refinement of students' talents and capabilities in different fields.
The Department of Gifted Students revealed that it intensified efforts during the 2021/2022 scholastic year in working with SEC partners to discover talented students, nurturing their talents, and developing their skills by involving them in a set of innovative training packages designed specifically to suit their interests and ages; meet their needs and offer programmes, competitions and specialised courses.

The Talented Students Programme will target the fourth to the twelfth grade students of “Mawahib” (the Talents Initiative) to develop their skills through educational programmes and creative methodology.

The initiative includes a number of programmes and activities offering four tracks that include the sustainable environment track, which is concerned with developing students’ knowledge in the field of agriculture and livestock; the astronomy and space track, which is dedicated to the study and analysis of astronomical phenomena and celestial bodies; the artificial intelligence (robot) track, which is concerned with developing the skills of installing and programming mobile robots; and the Artificial Intelligence (Python) track, which is dedicated to developing the skill of writing Python and making electronic applications.

His Excellency Dr. Saeed Musabah Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Sharjah Education Council, stressed that SEC, based on its solid role in developing student talents, presents an initiative that enhances these trends and works to discover the best student talents and involve them in scientific programmes to develop their creativity to be able to support the country.
