SSC to organise Kalba Beach Games 2021 in November

Sharjah 24: Under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) to organise the Kalba Beach Games 2021 in November to promote sports and tourism sectors in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The tournament will include seven games: beach football, beach volleyball, beach basketball, 10km beach running, kayaking, open-water swimming, and triathlon.

The SSC formed an organising committee for the first edition of the tournament headed by Abdul Malik Jani, Vice Chairman of the SSC.

Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the SSC, stated that the Kalba Beach Games is an extension of the SSC’s various activities. These activities aim to highlight the importance of sports in Sharjah, translating the visions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and his wife, Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs and the follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Executive Council, by providing a healthy sporty environment for Sharjah’s clubs.

The event will be organised within the SSC's plan to diversify by picking different cities of the emirate, where sports play a major role in promoting tourism.

The organising committee held its first meeting on Monday, September 13, 2021, at Ittihad Kalba Sports & Cultural Club headquarters. The committee reviewed the organisational structure of the committee and the tasks and responsibilities of the committees and sports federations members that are participating.

Abdul Malik Jani stated that the work would be monitored daily aiming at providing all services for the tournament, in a manner that translates the council's plans to motivate community members to continue participating in various events.
