Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) held, on Friday, the "Khorfakkan Clouds Challenge" for bicycles, where 120 participants of both sexes competed in the categories of citizens, and the open category from 16 years and above.
The event also witnessed virtual participation, bringing the total number to 200 participants, for the distance of 8 kilometres.
Abdulmalik Jani, Vice Chairman of SSC and Chairman of the Individual Games Committee, Salem Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Khorfakkan Cultural and Sports Club, Yasser Omar Al Doukhi, Director of Sports and Community Events Department, and Zakia Suhail Al Musharkh, Head of the Media Department, attended the event and the honouring ceremony.
His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of SSC, confirmed that the launch of the race came to keep pace with the qualitative leap witnessed by the city of Khorfakkan in terms of its tourist attractions.
His Excellency added that SSC continues its role in spreading the culture of sports among the groups of society, in implementation of the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
For his part, the Vice Chairman of SSC, thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the event, which expressed the value and importance of sport for the various segments of society in the Emirate.
