Ruwad launches 'My Project' for best project idea in 2021

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Foundation to Support Pioneering Entrepreneurs (Ruwad), affiliated to Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), announced the launch of its new competition entitled “My Project” to choose the best project idea for the year 2021.
His Excellency Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Chairman of SEDD, said that the competition comes in line with the continuous government efforts of the wise leadership in Sharjah to support the entrepreneurship environment and spread the culture of business among society members.

His Excellency Al Suwaidi added that the competition comes under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and the follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council, as the competition will enhance the initiatives and projects of "Ruwad", which aims to establish a stimulating business environment to expand the base of emerging projects, supporting and motivating entrepreneurs to establish pioneering projects in new and promising economic fields and sectors, especially in the industrial, and technical sectors, in addition to other sectors.

His Excellency Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Director of Ruwad, explained that “My Project’ competition is characterised by its innovative, creative and competitive nature, and registration will be open for 12 days, starting September 12, and ends on September 23. 

His Excellency Al Mahmoud pointed out that cash rewards were allocated to the owners of the winning ideas, in addition to a supportive set of other benefits and facilities.

His Excellency Al Mahmoud added that the competition is intended for young male and female applicants, aged 21 years and over, who have pioneering ideas and who wish to launch their small projects in Sharjah, adding that Ruwad will provide a package of support, guidance and training services to the winning ideas in preparation for launching and implementing their projects on the ground. 

His Excellency Al Mahmoud pointed that the stages of the competition will include organising an introductory meeting in the presence of actual participants, two training workshops with the aim of developing and refining the participants’ ideas and enabling them to prepare feasibility studies to ensure that projects are actually executable.

His Excellency Al Mahmoud called those wishing to participate in the competition to review the details, conditions and criteria of the competition on Ruwad website and social media accounts. The competition will be accompanied by a media campaign to ensure the participation of the largest number of contestants.
