Sharjah 24: Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police and Head of the Local Team for Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management, chaired the first meeting of the team overseeing the implementation of PCR tests for students, teaching, and administrative staff in Sharjah's schools, which took place, on Wednesday, in the presence of team members, representatives of Sharjah Government.
The creation of the team has pursued the educational sector's decision to return to face-to-face education at the start of the current school year, and it aims to apply the application of health precautionary measures in a way that ensures limiting the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Representatives from the Sharjah Police's higher departments, as well as the Sharjah Medical District, Sharjah Social Services Department, Emirates Schools Establishment, Sharjah Private Education Authority, Sharjah Government Media Bureau's Media Relations Department, and Sharjah’s National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority, attended the meeting.
In order to achieve community happiness, the private and public education sectors have been involved in discussing and reviewing the best preventive and precautionary practices with the goal of supporting students and parents, facilitating procedures, and conducting examinations with ease and convenience
The meeting also discussed ways to coordinate with the Ministry of Health and Prevention, which was represented by the Sharjah Medical District, on qualifying school medical and nursing teams to conduct medical examinations for the target groups, as well as preparing school clinics to conduct examination. The meeting also discussed the mechanism for organising the work of PCR examination for students, administrators, and others, the usage of schools’ clinics and allocated nurse staff to each school.
The meeting came out with a list of recommendations for organising the return of students to school and conducting a PCR examination in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Prevention.
