Sharjah 24: Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) received a delegation from Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) at the Department’s headquarter.
During the visit, ways of cooperation were discussed, and the best practices followed in compliance and inclusion procedures in the Legal Affairs Department at SEDD were discussed, along best practices in the legal field, in addition to a number of other issues of common interest.
Commenting on that, His Excellency Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, SEDD Chairman, said that SEDD is concerned about communicating with our counterparts in ADDED and other Departments into discuss issues of common interest, exchange experiences and information, and provide the best ways to serve investors.
His Excellency pointed out that activating partnerships between governmental and semi-governmental bodies and institutions and leading private companies in the country plays an important role to come up with the best ideas and ambitious plans to strengthen bilateral relations. As it helps to improve and enhance performance through the exchange of experiences, access to best practices and the adoption of successful strategies in various fields, especially the legal aspects.
For his part, Hamad Al Midfa, Deputy Director of Legal Affairs Department at SEDD, stressed that the Department has adopted the best innovative solutions that go in line with the direction of the Government of Sharjah to reach a qualitative leap in procedures.
He added that SEDD is keen on constantly to upgrade its services and to transform them into smart technologies. It works to develop its legal system therefor to provide the best and finest services and facilitate them for customers. In addition, to raising operational efficiency, and using modern technologies to complete remote auditors’ transactions.
During the meeting, the most important achievements made during the previous period were reviewed, the most important of which was the provision of the "real beneficiary" service provided by the Department through its website www.sedd.ae and “Tasheel” service centres.
This fall within SEDD’s plan to achieve international standards and implement the requirements of Cabinet Resolution No. 58 concerning the organisation of the data of real beneficiary. The service requires companies to create a special register for the real beneficiary, and to include the data of this register in the licencing systems of local authorities, to enhance national efforts in the file of money laundering, terrorist financing and illegal organizations, and support the country's position in the relevant global indicators.
The meeting also included reviewing the legal performance indicators of SEDD, which contributed to meeting the needs of the public and completing their transactions in the shortest time and intelligently. This implement the directions of the wise leadership in the transformation towards a digital government, in an effort to find innovative interactive channels that contribute to meeting the needs of customers and making them happy by facilitating services for them through providing an integrated system of smart services.
In the end, the two parties stressed the importance of strengthening future cooperation in line with the government service standards that the federal and local government aspire to. They also praised the importance of holding such meetings in the future because of their role in accelerating development processes and enhancing the investment movement in the Emirate.
