Sharjah 24: Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the Sharjah Ladies Club (SLC), expressed her pride in the Sharjah Ladies Club's expansion and ongoing development in a statement on the occasion of the Sharjah Ladies Club's Khorfakkan branch's completion in collaboration with Sharjah Department of Public Work (SDPW).
Her Highness said: “Sharjah Ladies Club is one of the key drivers of change among Sharjah Government organisations. Since its establishment in 1982, with the generous support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and the Ruler of Sharjah, SLC continues to grow and provide women and children in Sharjah with a high standard of services in a safe environment. Sharjah Ladies Club’s journey witnessed the club marking its presence in smaller towns of Sharjah with ten branches which strive to maintain the same level of quality and standards which is a testament to their outstanding success. Today, Sharjah Ladies Club stands as a destination for women and children which provides several leisure, entertainment, cultural, sports, and creative services that reinforces the advancement of women and the community of Sharjah.”
The Khorfakkan branch of the club is one of the club's oldest, dating back to 1996. The branch's maintenance and development process included the addition of new features, most notably an external walkway for women and a bicycle pathway, as well as changing the branch's landscapes and providing a spectacular visual experience for club members.
The renovation work included the development of the Marassi restaurant and the creation of a hall for hospitality and events, as well as a fitness centre with aerobics classes, a hall dedicated to various sports equipment according to the latest specifications, sauna and steam rooms, a hall for bicycles, and a hall for personal training within the club's services that provide more privacy.
Khawla Al Serkal, Director General of the Sharjah Ladies Club, acknowledged that all of the club's spread branches throughout the Emirate of Sharjah's towns and regions are continually undergoing development, renovation, and maintenance work, in accordance with Sharjah's continuous development process, and the vision and directives of Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, by providing the highest standards of excellence in the club's services, in a manner that reflects the emirate's civilised face and provides an inspiring and safe environment.
