Launch of 'Our Holiday is Different' with 16 clubs

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) announced the launch of Sharjah virtual Summer event, “Our Holiday is Different”, from 1st to the 26th of August, that will be held remotely via Zoom, and it aims to include 100 participants aging 8 to 12 years old.
Sixteen Sharjah clubs will participate in many interesting events including various cultural, sports, religious and entertainment events, and will work to discover talents and provide the opportunity to practice favourite hobbies under the supervision of SSC team and a number of institutions.

Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of SSC, indicated that the Sharjah Virtual Summer event is held annually as part of the Council’s keenness to enable this age category to invest in the holiday and practice various hobbies in implementation of the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and His wife Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, and the follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council.

Al Hazami added that despite the fact that the whole world was affected by the Corona pandemic, the event did not stop, as it was remotely held last year, and  this year, it will be launched in the same way, within the framework of the Council’s keenness to adhere to all preventive and precautionary measures that preserve the safety of all children and participants, as the Council seeks diversity in the religious, recreational, cultural and educational aspects.

Yasser Omar Al Doukhi, Director of the Sports and Community Events Department said the event represents an opportunity for young people to participate in the various programmes. The team set an agenda that provides the opportunity for participants to practice various hobbies, participate in competitions that vary between innovation, sports, awareness lectures and entertainment.

The summer programme activities, held weekly from Sunday to Wednesday, from 4:30 PM until 6 PM, will include workshops specialised in drawing, photography, health, awareness, sports commentary, beside the Holy Qur’an, virtual trips to the Sharjah Academy of Astronomy, Space sciences and Technology.

Al Doukhi concluded that the Department, with the participating parties and clubs, plans to turn this event into a special edition with the participation of 16 clubs from the Sharjah clubs, and everyone works on one goal, which is the success of this edition in all respects.
