Sharjah Police hosts the Pink Caravan

Sharjah 24: The Punitive and Correctional Department at the Sharjah Police hosted the Pink Caravan, mobile medical clinic for early detection of and raising awareness around breast cancer, for the sixth year in a row.
The Caravan was received by Colonel Mona Sorour, Deputy Director of the Punitive and Correctional Department at Sharjah Police, and a number of the institution's employees.

The visit is a part of the initiatives organised by the Punitive and Correctional Department for inmates, and aimed at educating female inmates about breast cancer and the importance of early detection.

The Pink Caravan provided medical examinations for 21 female inmates of different nationalities in the institution, using the latest modern medical technologies. In addition, the Caravan raised awareness about breast cancer risks, symptoms, prevention methods, and the importance of periodic examination.

Colonel Mona Sorour extended thanks and appreciation to the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and to the generous follow-up of his wife, Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, Founder and Patron of the Friends of Cancer Patients, International Ambassador of the World Cancer Declaration for Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), International Ambassador for Childhood Cancer for UICC and Patron of the First Global NCD Alliance Forum, for their continuous support to all community members, in order to combat and prevent cancer.

Colonel Mona Sorour concluded by honouring the organisers of the Pink Caravan, praising them for their humanitarian role in promoting societal awareness on the importance of conducting periodic examinations to prevent cancer.
