Sharjah23:Rafid Automotive Solutions reported 846 minor traffic accidents on Sharjah roads during the Eid Al-Adha holiday (July 19 -24) through the “Rafid” mobile app and call center.
The Day of Arafat (Monday, July 19) witnessed the largest number of reported accidents with 173, 124 of which occurred in the city of Sharjah and the rest in various cities and regions of the emirate. Meanwhile, the lowest number of incidents were reported on Friday, July 23, with 99 accidents, 69 of which happened in the city of Sharjah.
Abdelrahman Alshamsi, Accident & RSA Department Manager at Rafid Automotive Solutions, confirmed that the days leading up to the holidays in general witnessed an increase in minor traffic accidents, most of which were caused by speed violations, negligence, and lack of focus while driving; in addition to non-compliance with the lane, reversing without paying attention, and parking cars in illegal locations.
According to Alshamsi, the Rafid mobile app and call center are working around the clock, in cooperation with Sharjah Police, to receive reports about minor traffic accidents, in the interest of driver safety and security. In addition, they are also monitoring potentially providing drivers additional services they might need while on the road.
Through the application, Rafid can also provide roadside assistance services for emergencies such as refuelling, tyre and battery replacement as well as breakdown assistance and transportation. Rafid also offers an auto express service, which includes an integrated facility for the repair of imported and domestic vehicles; and a mobile auto express service, which consists of a mobile workshop specializing in repair and maintenance.
