The Sharjah Chess and Culture Club for Ladies (CCCL) has announced the organisation of the first Sharjah International Virtual Chess Cup for Girls, which target girls aged 14 and under.
The tournament will take place from July 29 to July 31, following the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah's wife, Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, to promote women's sports in the Emirate of Sharjah by organising and attracting a variety of sporting and international events that reflect the Emirate's cultural and sporting diversity.

The event will feature 200 players from various Arab countries and worldwide, and will be organised under the supervision and sponsorship of the Sharjah Sports Council and the Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation, in accordance with the International Chess Federation's agenda.

According to Najla Al Shamsi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Chess and Culture Club, the tournament aims to raise the technical level of young players under the age of 14, provide them with global experiences through interaction with international players, and place the club among international clubs that organise international tournaments.
