MoCD congratulates senior Emiratis by phone on Eid Al Adha

Sharjah24: On the occasion of Eid Al Adha, the Ministry of Community Development (MoCD) staff congratulated senior citizens all over the UAE through phone calls and video conferencing technology as part of “We are Your Family Initiative” under the theme “#Let’s Celebrate_Safely”
Alia Al Joker, Director of Family Development Department at the Ministry of Community Development said: “The Ministry organized this occasion to interact and communicate with senior citizens by distributing Eid gifts and Eid Fawala at the senior emiratis happiness centers in several Emirates in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank.
Alia Al Joker emphasised that the ministry’s initiative coincides with the UAE federal government directives to celebrate Eid Al Adha safely with senior citizens and their families, promote interaction in accordance with safety measures and increase the awareness of the community members to continue to follow precautionary measures issued by the concerned authorities during Eid al-Adha holiday and at the same time enhance the wellbeing of individuals and the society during the pandemic recovery.
She also noted that the “You are the Joy of our Eid” initiative is based on exchanging greetings and interacting with senior citizens, giving them gifts at Eid to reflect the UAE's care for this category, and affirm the community's keenness to give them back and reward their efforts through adopting initiatives that promote their happiness and achieve their wellbeing. Alia Al Joker added: “You are the Joy of our Eid” initiative is part of the UAE government's support, development and attention to senior citizens; it seeks to improve their wellbeing and ensure their active and continuous participation in line with the objectives of the National Policy for Senior Emiratis which was based on seven key pillars: health care, community involvement and active life, elderly investment and effective civic participation, future quality of life, infrastructure and transportation, financial stability, safety and security.
The Ministry of Community Development seeks to employ technology and promote distance meetings at the family level and with senior citizens in particular to ensure the celebration of Eid Al Adha with full commitment towards applying precautionary measures, reducing gatherings and visits, staying away from crowded places and affirming community awareness to adhere to the customs and traditions and achieve happiness and wellbeing for everyone.
