Sharjah 24: Al-Asala Clubs of the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) started to receive elderly members at their headquarters in the cities of Sharjah: Al Hamriya, Al Dhaid, Al Madam, Al Bataih, Kalba, Khorfakkan, Dibba Al Hisn and Mleiha, after seizing its activities since the beginning of the outbreak of the Covid-19 crisis.
Al-Asala Clubs renovated their facilities and equipment, in line with health procedures, to provide social and recreational activities, and physiotherapy sessions meeting the therapeutic and recreational needs of its members. Al-Asala Clubs follow the highest level of safety and apply precautionary and preventive measures, by setting rules to welcome the members.
Somaya Al Shamsi, Head of Al-Asala Clubs, confirmed that the Social Services Department is keen to provide services to members, and to gradually return to normal within the precautionary requirements to prevent contagion, confirming that SSD looks forward to contributing to improving elderly life quality.
Since the beginning of the Covid 19 crisis, Al-Asala Clubs provided 100% of daily services remotely to members, parents and elderly via “Zoom” platform, WhatsApp groups, in addition to daily telephone contact, in implementation of the SSD plan aimed at ensuring social integration of the elderly and preserving their health and safety in light of the current health crisis that imposes social distancing.
