Sharjah 24: Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) discussed, in a meeting, with the UAE Cycling Federation ways of cooperation and consolidating joint efforts to promote and develop cycling, at the level of Sharjah and sports clubs.
During the meetin, held at SSC headquarters, His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council, His Excellency Mansour Bu Aseebah, Chairman of UAE Cycling Federation and Mr. Yasser Omar Al-Dokhi, Secretary General of the UAE Cycling Federation, reviewed the general plans that can be implemented between both sides, and discussed various proposals aiming at encouraging cycling in Sharjah, increasing the number of cyclists, and encouraging sports clubs to attract players.
His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami stated that SSC is keen, through the joint meeting, to confirm that cooperation with the UAE Cycling Federation is welcomed.
His Excellency affirmed that SSC is taking steps to promote the cycling sport, in implementation of the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and in follow-up to the recommendations of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council.
Al Hazami added that the Council goal has always been to collaborate with various sports federations and institutions, including the UAE Cycling Federation, to promote the cycling sport, at the UAE level in general, and Sharjah level in particular. Al Hazami, also stressed that SSC reviews all means that allow the development of the cycling sport by organising tournaments and events to increase the number of players in the UAE.
His Excellency Mansour Bu Aseebah extended his thanks to the Chairman of SSC, for conducting this fruitful meeting, indicating that it serves the vision of the UAE Cycling Federation in working to develop the cycling sport in general and to promote it in Sharjah in particular.
Bu Aseebah concluded that SSC plays a major role in promoting sports in the smiley emirate, and conformed that he is confident that further progress for cycling will be achieved through the continuous cooperation with SSC.
