Attended the meeting held Monday at the Chamber's headquarters, were Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the SCCI, Andrian Arrigita, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Costa Rica, and Francisco Hernandez, Ambassador of the Republic of Costa Rica to UAE, in the presence of Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director General of the SCCI, and Saud Abdul Rahman Al Hajri, Head of the Chamber's International Relations Department.
Fruitful cooperation
Abdullah Sultan Al Owais welcomed the visiting delegation, and stressed the importance of the visits and coordination meetings between the representatives of the two sides, which would take the bilateral economic and trade relations towards further growth and prosperity and facilitate mutual investment that serves the common interests between Sharjah and San José.
Such cooperation will enhance partnership opportunities between business communities, and help explore more investment opportunities in promising sectors.
Al Owais pointed out how much it is important for companies and investors from Costa Rica to visit Sharjah, to get acquainted with the business and investment environment in the emirate and explore opportunities for cooperation.
He also highlighted common interest between the Sharjah Chamber and Costa Rica which encourages enhancing bilateral relations, business and trade exchange to satisfactory levels. He also shed light on incentives provided by Sharjah and its institutions to attract businessmen from around the world.
A vital economic centre
On her part, Andrian Arrigita welcomed the warm reception, stressing the position that Sharjah occupies at the regional and global levels, as a vital and prominent economic centre and a leading destination for business and investment, noting that her meeting with the Chamber’s officials is an important occasion to discuss aspects of economic cooperation in light of the investment opportunities in Costa Rica for Emirati companies in several fields, especially in the sectors of agriculture, tourism and infrastructure, confirming her confidence in the possibility of cooperating in various fields in light of the distinguished bilateral relations between UAE and Costa Rica. She thanked the UAE wise leadership for aiding her country to combat Covid-19 pandemic.
Corporate support
Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi affirmed that the Chamber is fully prepared to support Costa Rican companies wishing to work and invest in the Emirate of Sharjah. He also assured that the chamber will provide all the facilities necessary for the success of their investments in the emirate, stressing the importance of strengthening communication channels between the two sides to achieve commercial partnerships and openness to more investment areas.
At the end of the meeting, the visiting delegation toured the permanent exhibition of local industrial products located within the Chamber's headquarters, where they were briefed on the products offered by more than 180 establishments operating in Sharjah in about 191 display platforms. The visitors praised the local industry and the important role of the exhibition in promoting the industries and investments operating in the emirate.
