On this occasion, Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, indicated that the first package of the annual tournaments in group and individual games has achieved the council’s objectives to encourage such tournaments that produce different talents and support the plans that benefit clubs in implementation of the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and his wife, Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, and the follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, to advance sport in the emirate.
For his part, Nabil Mohammed Ashour, Director of the Sports and Development Affairs Department at the Council, pointed out that these tournaments achieved great distinction, as the Council was keen to establish this edition, which lasted from mid-January to April, to compensate for the cancellation of competitions of the age groups in light of the Coronavirus pandemic, to give players opportunities to resume activity in addition to achieving the desired goals and maintaining the continuity of activity for the players in the various age groups in the different games under the supervision of the coaches.
