Sharjah 24: In continuation of the cooperation efforts between the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) and the University of Sharjah (UoS) in the field of research studies, scientific consultations and the exchange of experiences, a meeting was held at the university, and attended by representatives from the SCC including Dr. Abdullah Al Darmaki and Aisha Bukhatir, and Prof. Dr. Muammar Battayeb, Vice President for Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies and others from the UoS.
Welcoming SCC visiting delegation at the onset of the meeting, Dr. Al Darmaki thanked the Chairman and members of the SCC, and the Secretary General to the President of the UoS and the teaching and administrative staff for their continuous efforts to enhance the academic position achieved by the university locally and internationally, in accordance with the vision, support and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, President of the University of Sharjah.
He hailed the role the UoS plays in serving community issues at all levels and in many academic and research fields, which, thanks to the support and follow-up of the Ruler of Sharjah, has become a leading university in the field of higher education and scientific research.
He also noted that the meeting comes within the framework of continuing convergence of joint efforts between the SCC and the UoS regarding scientific research and its importance in preparing development strategies in all its fields to meet the current and future needs of society in the Emirate of Sharjah, expressing the SCC’s thanks for all aspects of the University of Sharjah's cooperation and support, and its continuous provision of scientific studies for all studies needed by the Council to continue its work.
The SCC proposes an initiative through which it seeks to form a team of undergraduate and postgraduate students for research and development in the various branches of the university to address the most important issues and vital topics in the Emirate of Sharjah, and to find effective solutions to them.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Muammar Battayeb welcomed the SCC visiting delegation to the University of Sharjah, which represents an extension of the constructive cooperation and strategic integration between the University of Sharjah and various government institutions.
He stressed that the University of Sharjah seeks, according to the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two sides, to cooperate and coordinate with the SCC in providing specialised research services and conduct joint social studies by exchanging data and information, organising programmes and events, and holding relevant conferences and seminars.
Battayeb affirmed the university's readiness to cooperate with national institutions and bodies with the aim of developing society, highlighting the long and incessant cooperation between the two sides.
