Sharjah 24: Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, Executive Director of Sharjah Charity International (SCI), confirmed that allocations were made to implement projects, programmes and initiatives of the Ramadan Campaign, at a cost of 60.4 million dirhams.
The Executive Director of SCI announced, on Monday, the launch of the Ramadan Campaign, during a press conference.
The campaign includes many humanitarian projects worth 62 million and a half, inside and outside the country to support education and health of needy families, with aim of the maintaining human dignity, part of the wise leadership concern for humanity.
In statements to "Sharjah 24", the Executive Director of SCI stated that that allocations were made to implement projects, programmes and initiatives of the Ramadan Campaign, at a cost of 60.4 million dirhams.
Such efforts come by distributing one million fasting meals inside and outside the country at a cost of 15 million dirhams, in addition to delivering food basket to 25 thousand beneficiaries at a cost of 3.2 million dirhams, and raising zakat allocations to 8 million dirhams, to benefit 20 thousand people.
Bin Khadim added that SCI aims to distribute 150,000 of Zakat Al Fitr for 15,000 families at a cost of 3 million dirhams, and Eid clothing for 5 thousand beneficiaries at a cost of 1.2 million dirhams.
Bin Khadim continued that as part of the campaign's work, SCI seek to build 109 shelters to accommodate those in need, and establish an integrated charitable villages to provide a decent life, at a cost of 8.7 million dirhams, as well as to digging 21 wells at a cost of 2.4 million dirhams to provide drinking water in remote villages.
This came came during the press conference of the Supreme Committee for the Ramadan Campaign, in coordination with the Department of External Projects and Kafala, aimed to launch a package of charitable projects in the countries covered by SCI's work and projects, with financial allocations amounting to 23.5 million dirhams. In addition to the launch of five relief campaigns to treat people with heart diseases, at a cost of 2.4 million dirhams, which aims to implement 251 catheterisation operations for children, as well as establishing nine schools and classrooms.
It is noteworthy that the campaign includes several charitable initiatives to bring joy to 550 families. These initiatives are based on relief programmes dedicated to those in need of paying rental fees, electricity and water bills, as well as those who have failed to pay tuition fees and treat patients, at a total cost of 7.5 million dirhams.
