Sultan bin Ahmed crowns Mohammed Tariq with 12th Munshid’s title

Sharjah 24: Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, crowned the Egyptian munshid, Mohammed Tariq, with the title of the 12th edition of Sharjah Munshid – the Sharjah TV talent contest, organised by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority.
Held at Al Majaz Amphitheatre in Sharjah, the closing ceremony brought together six Arab munshids, and hosted the vocalist International Maher Zain. The Palestinian Abdul Al Majeed Erekat was ranked second, while the Syrian Hassan Al Jallab won the third place, after they obtained the highest percentage of votes by the audience and the jury. After winning the title, the Egyptian vocalist Mohammed Tariq confirmed that the programme is one of the most important milestones in the munshid's career. Mohammed Tariq won a financial prize of AED150,000, while the Palestinian Abdul Majeed Erekat received AED100,000, and the Syrian Hassan Al Jallab received AED50,000. The closing evening was attended by Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director-General of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority; Hassan Yacoub Al Mansouri, Secretary General of the Sharjah Media Council; a number of heads and directors of government departments in Sharjah, as well as a group of Arab officials and diplomatic figures.
