Sharjah 24 - WAM: The UAE Ministry of Interior (MOI) has urged the media not to circulate or disseminate any information that has not been published by the relevant authorities, stating that the deportation of African workers was Carried out in accordance with legal procedures.
Furthermore, this was based on solid and documented evidence that these prostitution networks were involved in human trafficking, indecent conduct, extortion, and assault cases, all of which pose a threat to society's security.

Many complaints have been received regarding the arrest, detention, and deportation of African workers, according to the Ministry. The arrests, which took place on June 24 and 25, involving 376 women and men, were carried out as part of legal procedures to address crimes related to human trafficking, cases of harm to women, and extortion, according to the Ministry.

According to the statement, the required preventative measures were implemented in compliance with the COVID-19 pandemic, including social distance and periodical detainee testing, in order to provide all forms of support to detainees in place to protect their physical and psychological safety.

Furthermore, ambassadors from friendly nations concerned with the detainees assessed the detainees, the procedure for dealing with them, and the charges against them, noting that a substantial majority of them were deported, with the remaining 50 persons lacking the necessary travel permits.

The Ministry firmly disputed the report's racist claims, emphasizing that the UAE follows strict non-discrimination laws and policies in all situations.
