Sharjah24: The 18th edition of Sharjah Heritage Days (SHD) currently ongoing at the historic Heart of Sharjah district, offers a capsule of different cultures and traditions, and you don’t have to visit a stall or pavilion to experience it.
Khamis Tofi walks around the festival venue in a red “tarbouch” hat, serving sham berry juice from his copper “briyak” to visitors, offering a bit of traditional Syrian hospitality to all. Such vendors are a common sight in the markets in Syria, like the Al Hamidiyah Souq in Damascus, especially during Ramadan.

SHD is running at Heart of Sharjah until April 10. The event will be inaugurated at a new venue today (Saturday) in Khorfakkan to enable people in the emirate’s eastern enclave to enjoy the activities and events.
