Sharjah Sports Council Run achieves great successes

Sharjah24: In a new achievement for the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), the Sharjah Sports Council Run has achieved a tremendous success Friday in the opening of the new season races in the University City of Sharjah, with the participation of no less than 500 contestants from different nationalities, and 50 distance contestants.
The competition comes in line with the strategic partnership with the Sharjah Foundation for Women’s Sports, Knowledge Without Borders, and in cooperation with the Sharjah Police General Command, the University City, and Al Qudra Sports Management LLC, as part of the council’s societal goals aiming to spread the culture of sport among the segments of society, promoting a healthy lifestyle and making sport a way of life.

The race included several classes. On this occasion, His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council  praised the success of the race, which was met with great demand from various groups and nationalities to achieve the goals of the Council, and to implement the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, chairperson of the Supreme Council For Family Affairs, the follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Sharjah Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler, and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), aiming to promote the sports and support the athletes in all areas.

For her part, Her Excellency Nada Askar Al Naqbi, Director General of Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation, indicated that the success of this race, which is the first in the series of community races for this year.
