Sharjah 24: Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), affirmed the Council’s keenness to pay attention to the creative people of the emirate as part of the efforts aimed at providing comprehensive support to and caring for talented athletes.
This came when Al Hazami honoured Hassan Adel Al Matroushi, a Taekwondo player at the Al Ittihad Kalba Sports Club, on Wednesday, for winning the third place in the smart awareness competition within the "Virtual Summer Without Leisure 2020" competitions, held remotely under the auspices of the Al Maktoum Foundation, with the participation of club players and school students and summer centres nationwide from the age group 7 to under 18 years.

The honouring ceremony was attended by several officials from the Al Ittihad Kalba SC and sports persons.

Praising Al Matroushi’s distinction, Al Hazami said the SSC is keen to encourage sports and sportsmen in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, and follow-up Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, and their care and support for sports and athletes.

He continued: “We commend this distinction, which will undoubtedly be a motivation for Al Matroushi’s peers and a personal catalyst for him to be more creative in the future.”

Thanking Al Hazami for honouring Al Matroushi, the Board of Directors of Al Ittihad Kalba Sports Club considered the gesture as a tribute to the club in the first place, and reinforcing the important role that the SSC plays in providing all forms of support and care for every creative and talented not only at the level of the Club, but also at the level sports in the emirate in general.
