Sharjah24 – Reuters: One of Japan's popular tourist sites, and the country's tallest tower, Tokyo Skytree, re-opened on Monday (June 1) after a three-month closure due to the coronavirus outbreak.
There are a number of virus prevention measure in place. A thermal camera was set up at the entrance to screen visitors' temperatures. Visitors aside from children who are younger than elementary school age are required to wear a mask. Admission is being limited to 20 to 30 percent of the maximum capacity. Overcast weather did not keep freelance cameraman Makota Someno, 56, away from the tower. He said he was careful to keep in mind what is known in Japan as the 'three C's' - confined spaces, crowded spaces and close contact. Tokyo Skytree operator Tobu Tower Skytree said the site will be open for shorter hours, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. JST (0000 - 1200 GMT), in line with the Tokyo government's request to reduce business hours.
